Tuesday 5th June 2018 – Stage 1: Meg\u00e8ve – Stresa<\/h2>\r\n\r\n\"\"<\/a>After a few kilometers in the Tarentaise valley, the participants were confronted with the first mountain passes. Opened the day before, it was under sunny weather that the competitors were able to go up the Petit Saint-Bernard pass and its 2188m altitude. It is in a setting close to the imagination that the cars crossed spectacular snowdrifts, over 4 meters high!\r\n

\r\nA perfect place for the first pass control and the start of the first regularity test. The pass was also our gateway to Italy to the valley from Aosta, followed by a new stop to enjoy a breathtaking view of the Mont Blanc, before joining St. Vincent and lunch at the Grand Hotel Billia.\r\n

\r\n\"\"<\/a>During the afternoon, the competitors took a bit of height to reach Biella, then went to the great lakes and their magical scenery. It was necessary to cross a last massif to benefit from an unbelievable view on the Orta Lake and benefit from this magnificent postcard of the famous “Laggo Maggiore”.\r\n

\r\nThe closure of a road on the route forced the rally to change its course during the day. It is a bit confused that some have slightly lost their way to finally reach the shores of the great lake and its Hotel Regina, in pure Italian style: between renaissance and rococo. At the edge of the water, it goes without saying!\r\n

\r\nBad news during the day for BOUSQUET crew with their Alfa Romeo and EXERTIER Michel & DUMOULIN Andr\u00e9 at the wheel of their Jaguar MkII, unfortunately forced to give up following a technical incident on their cars.\r\n

\r\nWe will meet you tomorrow for the summary of the second leg between Stresa and Serre-Chevalier.\r\n\r\n
