2022 – STAGE 2 / 15 JUNE : L’ALPE D’HUEZ – SERRE CHEVALIER

Stage #2: L’Alpe d’Huez – Modane – Serre Chevalier – june 15, 2022

After a night at altitude, it was from Alpe d’Huez that the participants had to cover the famous 21 pins of the famous climb of the Tour de France cyclist, this time downhill before joining the Oisans valley.

The Col de la Croix de Fer was then facing us with a coffee break planned at its summit before descending into the Maurienne valley with a short classification stage.

It was then that a few drops of rain were invited before reaching Modane and its Fort Marie-Thérèse where lunch was held, in the heart of this fortress, imprint of the glorious past of the region.

We then had to climb the Col du Mont-Cenis for an incursion into Italy via Susa and Oulx before returning to France via Montgenèvre. Briançon and its famous citadel then welcomed us before joining Serre Chevalier, the end of this stage still presenting important slopes.

The Grand Hôtel de Serre Chevalier now welcomes us for a well-deserved rest before the final stage which will also be the longest and which will take us to the Mediterranean coast in Saint-Tropez for the final arrival scheduled for Place des Lices.
